This was typed yesterday, but I forgot to post it…
Wow! Kyla and Lucas are seven months today. It’s so hard to believe that they’ve been here so long, and yet they are such a part of our lives it’s like they’ve always been here. They are learning and doing so much every day and even N said just the other day that he wished we could freeze them at this stage for awhile because it’s so much fun to watch them learn and explore.
As I type Kyla is scooting her way from one end of the living room to the other. You’d think she’d figure out that she’d get much less tired if she’d use her legs too, but nope. It’s all arms for her! 😉
Lucas is pulling up ALL the time and wants so badly to start cruising. Sometimes he gets a step or two before falling down, but he doesn’t get very far. When it comes to crawling, however, he’s a speed demon. One moment he’ll be on one side of the room and the next time we look up he’s on the opposite side, getting into mischief! And whoever said babies won’t crawl away from where the people are, didn’t meet Lucas! He loves to escape to the kitchen or our bedroom, even if no one is in there. We’ve started barricading as much as possible. Getting from one room to another in our house is now like going through an obstacle course!
They’re both feeding like champs, though Kyla now thinks it’s fun to put her hands into her mouth after I put a bite into it, then she smears the food all over her face! I’m seriously considering feeding her naked just to save on stain remover! 😉
Oh, and a word to the wise… Don’t let your kids lick pickles unless you want little addicts (see pics). 😉 I’ve probably made a big mommy no-no, but it’s very funny to watch! (and, yes, dirty comments were rampant as we took the pics)
Today is also N’s first day back at work. Hopefully he’s surviving. It’s only been 3 hours since he left and I’m already exhausted. But it’s time to get used to taking care of them alone again. Guess that means I should get off the computer and get the dog toy out of Kyla’s mouth… 😉
Added today: N and I both survived the day, if a bit more exhausted than usual. Unfortunately, the twins did not think that sleep was necessary for either of us and woke up screaming in unison multiple times last night. Ugh!
